Set Training & Acting Class III - Advanced

Prerequisite: New students must submit a self-taped audition or acting reel to enter the class at

In this class, students not only learn techniques that help them understand the character they are playing and create backstories that help them understand their character's goals, objectives, and actions but also get a chance to be a part of a DBFAA film production and receive IMDB credit. New students entering the academy must audition to get into this class. During the 8-week session, students will learn audition prep techniques to help them make bold and creative choices. 


Lessons Learned:

Scene/Beat Analysis: students will dive into immersive scene rehearsals and captivating on-camera performances. They'll master the art of identifying the nuanced beats within a scene, equipping them with the skills necessary for a standout audition in a DBFAA film.


Improv: Students will engage in fun and educational improv games and exercises that reinforce the lessons taught in class, enhancing their ability to deliver improv confidently and skillfully.


Audition Prep: Students experience a transformative journey of performing in front of the camera. Under the expert guidance of Coach Dom, they receive invaluable constructive criticism that pushes them to make daring and captivating choices in their auditions. Prepare to elevate your audition skills and unlock your potential like never before!

Cold Read Techniques: Students will learn how to break down and perform a scene in 15 minutes, the importance of comedic timing, understanding jokes, and a punchline line in a scene. Overall, they'll learn spontaneity and the ability to adapt to each moment in the scene.
